Every June the Pacific Beach Surf Club hosts their annual Summer Longboard Classic contest at Tourmaline Surfing Park. As always, the 2015 contest entries are open to the public on a first come, first served basis, so if you're thinking of showing off your latest moves, get your entry in soon as the age slots from five to a hundred and five always fill up fast!
Spectators are welcome with open arms, and there is no charge for admission. The Bus Brothers DJs will be spinning vintage vinyl and yelling out raffle prize winners all day long, and contestants will be well fed and well loaded down with schwag as part of their entry fee.
The atmosphere is always family friendly and festive, and the surfing is always entertaining regardless of conditions. The past couple years have had pretty decent south/southwest swells, and if the surf we've seen so far this year is any indication, we could be in for more of the same this time around.
